Grupo Compay Segundo, guardians of Compay Segundo's legacy and of the Cuban son, take the Casino Estoril stage on 4 March 2027 with classics such as "Chan Chan" and "Guantanamera". Tickets cost between 25€ and 50€.

Full details

Brief Introduction There are songs that cross borders, generations and decades without losing their identity. That is the spirit that lives on in the Grupo Compay Segundo, guardian of one of the most authentic expressions of traditional Cuban music. With Compay Segundo's legacy as a starting point, the group keeps the flame of the Cuban son alive, bringing audiences the energy, tradition and soul of Cuba. Synopsis The Grupo Compay Segundo keeps the musical legacy of Compay Segundo alive — one of the most emblematic figures of the Cuban son and one of those most responsible for taking Cuba's traditional music to stages all over the world. After his death, in 2003, his stage companions carried his legacy forward, preserving the essence of a sound deeply bound to Cuban history and cultural identity. Through reinterpretations of great classics of the Cuban songbook, the group celebrates the son, a genre born in eastern Cuba from the fusion of Spanish and African musical traditions. With its engaging rhythms, guitars, voices and the characteristic sound of traditional Cuban instruments, the show transports the audience into the musical universe that made Compay Segundo an international reference. "Chan Chan", "Guantanamera", "Macusa", "El Beso Discreto", "La Negra Tomasa" and "Juramento" are some of the melodies that are part of this encounter with Cuban music and culture, in a show that spans generations and keeps the spirit of Compay Segundo alive. In March 2027, the Grupo Compay Segundo returns to Portugal for four performances: on 3 March, at the Casa da Música, in Porto; on 4 March, at the Casino Estoril; and on 7 March, at the Aula Magna, in Lisbon.
