Os Dias de Marvila are back for their 4th edition, this year under the theme Freedom and Democracy. From 7 to 11 October, the performing arts festival once again takes over the neighbourhoods of the parish, inviting creativity and community participation. With the Marvila Library as its meeting point and main stage, the event reaffirms its deep connection to the territory where it was born in 2017. For a week, the streets and neighbourhoods of Marvila come alive with a plural and free programme crossing traditional genres and emerging movements, with theatre, dance, music, performances, cinema, workshops, guided visits, exhibitions, among other activities. In theatre, the highlight is the play Jantar de Gala, by Teatro Meridional. In music, the Marvila Choir, the Rato Chinês concert and the Dancefloor da Liberdade celebration stand out. The seventh art is present with the screening of the film O Palácio de Cidadãos, by Rui Pires. The programme also includes urban art workshops, the Fragmentos de Liberdade photography exhibition and guided routes on the industrial and housing history of the parish. The festivities end on the 11th with the Trigalada ball, at Parque Urbano Mar & Vila. Full programme here. Free.
