An annual event by the Associação São Francisco de Assis with Cascais Town Council marking World Animal Day, featuring animals for adoption, talks, a dog contest, a kids' area and concerts, with free entry.

The Festa do Animal is an annual event organized by the Associação São Francisco de Assis in partnership with the Câmara Municipal de Cascais, aiming to mark World Animal Day, celebrated on 4 October, raise public awareness of the importance of animal welfare and protection, and encourage the responsible adoption of dogs and cats cared for by the association and by other shelters and animal protection organizations. The event brings together a variety of activities and initiatives aimed at different audiences, providing a moment of togetherness and awareness around the animal cause. Some of the attractions include: resident animals (dogs and cats) from the Associação São Francisco de Assis available for adoption, talks and workshops on topics related to animal welfare, a dog contest, a children's area with bouncy castles and face painting, story time, stalls from animal-related brands, demonstrations by the GNR, concerts, among others. Free entry. Organization: Associação São Francisco de Assis in partnership with the Câmara Municipal de Cascais.
