Siberian-born pianist and composer Julia Perminova leads her Amsterdam-formed trio, with Portuguese drummer Luís Possollo and French bassist Matis Regnault, in a vibrant jazz that crosses classical music and contemporary expression, marked by musical narrative and spontaneous dialogue.

Full details

Synopsis Born in Siberia, pianist and composer Julia Perminova builds a musical language that crosses jazz, classical music and contemporary expression, drawing inspiration from names such as Thelonious Monk, Sergei Prokofiev and Sergei Rachmaninoff. Her music, described by pianist Aaron Parks as 'imaginative, colourful and poetic', reflects an artistic path marked by the dialogue between different cultures and traditions. Formed seven years ago in Amsterdam, during Julia's studies at the conservatoire, the Julia Perminova Trio currently brings together Julia Perminova on piano, Portuguese drummer Luís Possollo and French double bassist Matis Regnault. The combination of the three musicians' different backgrounds and sensibilities gives rise to a vibrant and deeply interactive language, where composition and improvisation meet. With performances across Europe, Asia and South America, the trio stands out for intense and immersive concerts, marked by musical narrative, spontaneous dialogue between the musicians and a strong emotional dimension. Show original (Portuguese)
