Lenna Bahule - V World Music Week BOTA
Live music 10€
Saturday 7 November · 17:00
Lenna Bahule presents 'Mcika', an intimate solo show of voice, moving body and traditional instruments, weaving a cappella songs and percussive chants from her Mozambican homeland, as part of the V World Music Week BOTA.
Brief Introduction Mcika - a word in Changana meaning "root" - is Lenna Bahule's ongoing creative process. It is the living space of transition and research to which the artist returns at each new cycle, creating and polishing her works directly on stage in contact with the audience. Presented as an intimate solo show, Mcika proposes an immersion in organic sound space and deep listening. In unique and contemplative performances, Lenna Bahule uses only her voice, her body in movement and traditional instruments to weave a repertoire of original a cappella songs, percussive chants from her homeland and imaginary landscapes.
