Wednesday 11 November · 21:00
Italian singer and percussionist Livia Giaffreda performs a concert of voice and frame drums, moving between fado, Italian and Spanish folk songs and Latin American melodies, as part of the V World Music Week BOTA.
Brief Introduction Singer and percussionist, Livia grew up in south-eastern Italy, learning traditional singing and percussion at folk festivals. She devoted herself to world music, honing her craft with artists across Europe and creating an eclectic repertoire in constant transformation. On stage, Livia brings only a voice and frame drums. With a single note, we set off on a journey towards intimate landscapes; through her drums, Livia tells us stories "skin to skin" with an enchanting voice and a radiant presence. Captivated by fado, by Italian and Spanish folk songs and by the melodies of Latin America, she lets herself be carried by the music of the world to create a sound map of her own universe.
