AZAFRÁN blends the depth of Persian music, the rhythmic force of flamenco and the freedom of jazz in a concert at BOTA's World Music Week, with microtonal guitar, percussion, electric bass and flamenco dance.
Brief introduction AZAFRÁN is a project born from the meeting between the depth of Persian music, the rhythmic force of flamenco and the freedom of jazz. The repertoire consists mostly of original compositions by Sina Shirazi, together with the project's own versions and arrangements of Persian traditional music, flamenco and jazz. With the microtonal guitar, Sina establishes a dialogue between these different languages, accompanied by Carlos Mil-Homens' percussion and Asaf Rabi's electric bass, in harmony with Irene Hernández's flamenco dance.
