Workshop With Tatiana Arazaki DATES | 24 October TIME 10h00 to 12h00 TARGET AUDIENCE Ages 16+ [indicative age] PARTICIPANTS Min. 5, Max. 8 PRICE € 40 [materials included] Mizuhiki (??) is the traditional Japanese art of tying knots with a decorative cord made from washi paper. Traditionally, mizuhiki is used to decorate gift wrappings and envelopes offered on special occasions such as births, weddings or funerals. The color combinations and number of cords have different meanings, in a code understood by both giver and receiver. With secular roots, mizuhiki remains popular in Japan today and has conquered the West as a technique for creating accessories and decorative pieces. In this workshop, we will learn the basic awaji knot to create a bracelet that the participant will take with them. Prices Entry - 40€

Tradicionalmente, o mizuhiki é usado para decorar embrulhos de presentes e envelopes oferecidos em ocasiões especiais, como nascimentos, casamentos ou funerais. As combinações de cores e quantidade de fios possuem diferentes significados, num código que é entendido por quem oferece e por quem recebe. Com raízes seculares, na actualidade o mizuhiki mantem-se popular no Japão e conquistou o Ocidente como técnica para criar acessórios e peças decorativas.
