Students from the Agrupamento de Escolas de Miranda do Douro bring the Pauliteiros de Miranda tradition to Praça CCB, with the lhaços, the stick dance and the Mirandese language accompanied by bagpipe, snare drum and bass drum. The performance shows how this practice, historically associated with male groups, stays alive and is now also open to female and mixed groups.
🎤 Jovens Pauliteiros de Miranda bring Mirandese dance and language to Praça CCB The tradition of the Pauliteiros de Miranda arrives at Praça CCB through students from the Agrupamento de Escolas de Miranda do Douro. The performance shows how the "lhaços", the stick dance, the music and the Mirandese language continue to circulate between generations, finding in school a decisive space for their transmission. The work developed in recent years has also opened up more room for female and mixed groups, broadening participation in a tradition historically associated with male groups.
