FESTA DO JAZZ 2026 | JOANA RAQUEL QUINTETO
Live music 20€
Thursday 5 November · 22:15
Joana Raquel's quintet presents 'Queda Áscua', a repertoire with echoes of erudite chamber music built around the concept of song, where poetry guides the composition and the music lives on counterpoint and rhythm — dispensing with its most common protagonist, the drums.
Synopsis Joana Raquel 'Queda Áscua' Seeking an acoustic sound that creates a certain allusion to erudite chamber music, the repertoire of Joana Raquel's quintet embraces spontaneity and rests on the concept of song. In the search for a balance between the pre-conceived and the invented, the music lives on counterpoint and its harmonic product, and seeks to be rhythmic, dispensing with its most common protagonist — the drums. Poetry plays a prominent role and dictates the construction of everything else, serving as a guiding line for the composition.
