Synopsis Award-winning Dutch violinist Tim Kliphuis has created a completely new style spanning classical, manouche jazz and folk. Praised as a 'modern-day Paganini improviser', with an inclusive and innovative approach to music that unites audiences and influences a new generation of string players. Sought-after educator and author of the bestseller 'Gypsy Jazz Violin', Tim is a string improvisation teacher at the Amsterdam Conservatory. Tim Kliphuis was a direct disciple of master Stephane Grappelli, co-founder alongside Django himself of the Quintet of the Hot Club de France. Today he is an unavoidable figure in world Gypsy Jazz, one of the most important violinists in history, and one of the rare excellent pedagogues in both jazz and classical music. He has recorded several albums under his own name and regularly plays in the bands of the most prestigious musicians, composers and performers of Gypsy Jazz Manouche and Sinti.
