Brief Introduction KIMONO WORKSHOP With Cristina Neves Saturday | 10 October Hours | 9.30am to 1pm and 2.30pm to 6.30pm Target: 14 years and older [indicative age] Participants: Min. 5, Max. 8 Note: To bring your kimono to life, we ask participants to bring a 1.50 x 1.80 m piece of fabric that represents your style and personality. The colour, pattern and texture are your choice. We suggest a natural, light, and pliable fabric, e.g. muslin, cotton knit, cotton satin, half-linen, viscose, silk crepe, or whatever you prefer. Registrations until 5 October. The kimono is the traditional dress of Japan and literally means "thing to wear". It is recognized worldwide for its beauty and elegance, carrying centuries of tradition and cultural richness. Inspired by the exhibits shown in “Presença Portuguesa na Ásia” and “Japão: Festas e Rituais”, we invite you to learn to make your own kimono – to design the pattern, cut it in the fabric, sew it, and finish it – taking home an exclusive piece that reveals the simplicity of Japanese aesthetics, combining the classic with the contemporary. It is an ideal workshop for beginners in pattern making, for secondary or higher-education students, and for anyone interested in contemporary sewing. A cor, o padrão e a textura podem ser à sua escolha. Sugerimos que o tecido seja natural, leve e maleável, por exemplo: musseline, malha de algodão, cetim de algodão, meio linho, viscose, crepe de seda ou outro a seu gosto. Inscrições até 05 Outubro. É uma oficina ideal para iniciantes na modelagem, para jovens do ensino secundário ou superior e a todos aqueles que tenham interesse pela costura contemporânea.
