Synopsis Show in French with Portuguese subtitles. In Héritage, Cédric Eeckhout brings Jo Libertiaux, his mother, born in 1945. Free and independent, Jo built herself alone in a world dominated by men. In her, Cédric sees a fighter. Driven by a deep love for life, Jo tells her story, while her son reinvents and stages it, crossing themes such as female emancipation and economic, social and political history. Their voices intertwine: that of a divorced woman, mother of four children, who balanced work as a hairdresser with raising a family and who, now retired, became an actress; and that of her actor son, who identifies as queer and questions inheritance, masculinity and machismo. Between intimacy, emotion and humor, mother and son explore the legacy that passes from one generation to the next in a time marked by successive crises – climate, pandemic, political and social – but also by persistent forms of racism and sexism. Still, it is in the cracks of a world shaped by colonial and patriarchal traditions that new possibilities emerge. Sinopse Espetáculo em francês com legendas em português. Em Héritage , Cédric Eeckhout convoca Jo Libertiaux, a sua mãe, nascida em 1945. Livre e independente, Jo construiu-se sozinha num mundo dominado por homens. Nela, Cédric vê uma lutadora. Movida por um profundo amor pela vida, Jo conta a sua história, enquanto o filho a reinventa e encena, atravessando temas como a emancipação feminina e a história económica, social e política. As suas vozes entrelaçam-se: a de uma mulher divorciada, mãe de quatro filhos, que conciliou o trabalho como cabeleireira com a criação da família e que, já reformada, se tornou atriz; e a do seu filho ator, que se identifica como queer e questiona herança, masculinidade e machismo. Entre intimidade, emoção e humor, mãe e filho exploram o legado que passa de uma geração para a seguinte num tempo marcado por crises sucessivas , climática, pandémica, política e social , mas também por persistentes formas de racismo e sexismo. Ainda assim, é nas fissuras de um mundo moldado por tradições coloniais e patriarcais que surgem novas possibilidades.
