Marking the centenary of Miles Davis's birth, Laurent Filipe presents a narrated concert at the Auditório Carlos Avilez, joined by Mário Delgado, Alexandre Frazão, Massimo Cavalli and Pedro Lopes. The Portuguese trumpeter revisits decisive moments of Davis's career and shows how he crossed and helped transform successive phases of modern jazz.

On World Music Day, 1 October, the Museu Condes de Castro Guimarães hosts "From Court to Salon", a violin and piano concert tracing love-themed music from the refined elegance of the European courts to the intimacy of the late 19th and early 20th century salons, performed by Teatro Nacional de São Carlos musicians Alexander Stewart and João Paulo Santos.
