A concert featuring Beethoven's Piano Trio Op. 11 'Gassenhauer' and Op. 70 No. 1 'Ghost Trio', performed by Trio Arkadia.

Synopsis The Piano, Violin and Cello Trios Op. 11 and Op. 70, No. 1, reveal two very distinct moments in Beethoven's creative journey. Separated by a decade, these works bear witness to the transformation of a young composer who absorbed the conventions of his time into a creator capable of expanding the limits of musical language. In the Trio Op. 11, known as 'Gassenhauer', Beethoven starts from a popular melody to construct a work marked by elegance, humor and virtuosity. The Trio Op. 70, No. 1, nicknamed 'Ghost', explores more intense and unsettling expressive territories, anticipating some of the characteristics that would mark 19th-century Romanticism. Placed side by side, these two trios offer a portrait of Beethoven's extraordinary capacity for reinvention and invite us to follow the evolution of one of the most influential voices in the history of music.
