MAAT

A survey of ten years of MAAT's editorial activity, presenting a selection of more than 300 publications in a carefully arranged space that highlights their relationship with the museum's programming.

An exhibition dedicated to João Pimenta Gomes's work across music and the visual arts, centred on 'New Age', an installation of a dozen resonant, foliate and metallic objects conceived specifically for MAAT's Sala Estúdio.

Marking MAAT's 10th anniversary, 'Venus' stages a dialogue between art and haute couture co-created by Joana Vasconcelos around the universe of Valentino Garavani, bringing together textile sculptures, iconic installations such as 'Marilyn' and 'Jardim do Éden', and more than 30 creations by the Italian designer.

A workshop at the MAAT where children aged 6 and over build a solar-powered car and then race it in an exciting challenge. It lasts 60 minutes, costs 8€ per participant, and the meeting point is the MAAT Central ticket office.

Cuid'Arte at MAAT offers well-being experiences through art for people with dementia and their caregivers, in free sessions on the first and third Saturday of each month, built around the exhibitions on show at the museum. Registration at visitar.maat@edp-pt.

Guided tours of Pedro Cabrita Reis’s exhibition “com o coração livre de cuidados” at MAAT, held on Saturdays and Sundays at 10.30, bringing together around two hundred unpublished works spanning painting, drawing, collage and sculpture.

A mediator-led tour of Turn around, the exhibition presenting an extended route through the Fundação EDP's contemporary art collection, crossing artists of different generations and disciplines such as Ana Jotta and Joana Vasconcelos. Tours run on Saturdays and Sundays at 15.00, last 60 minutes and meet at the MAAT Central ticket office.

A journey through the history of energy, from the past to our collective future, focusing on the challenges of the energy transition and sustainability, inviting visitors — including the little ones — to be active agents of change.

A MAAT activity for children aged 8 and up (who may be accompanied by an adult) exploring what an electromagnet is, how it is built and what it is used for, ending with a game that tests what has been learned. It takes place on Sundays at 16.00, lasts 60 minutes and costs 8€ per child and 12€ per adult, free for MAAT Friends.

A creative workshop by Teatro Praga, with Cláudia Jardim and Diogo Bento, at the MAAT: starting from the works in the 'Turn around' exhibition, participants build narratives and performative proposals with the body and movement, in a final result open to their families.

MAAT (Museum of Art, Architecture and Technology) celebrates its 10th anniversary.

The Secret Route invites visitors into areas of Central Tejo normally closed to the public — the different levels of the boilers, the rheostat room and coal distribution carpet, the mixing tower, the water castle and the tunnels. It runs on the first Sunday of the month, lasts 90 minutes, is rated M/12 and costs €15.

A monthly meditation experience at MAAT, with each session tailored to the current exhibition and featuring an exclusive meditation in the exhibition space. Aimed at young people (12+) and adults, it connects art, mindfulness and well-being.

Teatro Praga challenges audiences to attend performance tours of the exhibition 'Turn around. Um olhar sobre a Coleção de Arte Fundação EDP', mediated by Cláudia Jardim and Diogo Bento in a celebratory, party-like spirit of creative freedom. Drawing on works by artists such as Adriana Proganó and Ana Jotta, rules can be turned upside down in a session of play and fun.

An immersive Extended Reality (XR) experience, using a mixed reality headset, that takes participants on a timeless journey through the rite of passage between death and rebirth, exploring consciousness, identity, memory and transcendence. Directed and with sound composition by Paulo Furtado, The Legendary Tigerman, Wednesday to Monday from 10am to 7pm.

As part of the exhibition "VENUS - Valentino Garavani through the eyes of Joana Vasconcelos", A Avó Veio Trabalhar leads a wool embroidery workshop at MAAT where the grandmothers' know-how meets contemporary creation. Each participant receives a small woollen textile piece as the starting point to explore stitches, textures and colours and create a unique piece.

A sensory route through Lisbon's Estádio da Tapadinha, in dialogue with Joana Vasconcelos's work Solitário#3 (2018), inviting participants to explore the stadium through its less obvious sound registers and to hear female voices in a space usually dominated by the roar of the crowd. It takes place on 15 November 2026, with sessions at 10.00 and 11.00, led by mediator Simone Longo de Andrade.

An exploration and visual arts workshop at the MAAT for children aged 4 to 8 accompanied by an adult: a clue game through the museum with riddles, challenges and puzzles set by artists and scientists.

A sensory trail through Estádio da Tapadinha, in dialogue with Bela Silva's 'Dança na Relva' (2026), devoted to taste and to the food culture of the stadium and the surrounding Alcântara neighbourhood. It takes place on 13 December 2026 at 10.00 and 11.00, for children aged 6 and over, young people and adults (€3, with a MAAT Friends discount).
