A ticket giving access to all the exhibitions and spaces of MAAT — the Museum of Art, Architecture and Technology — from the MAAT Central, housed in the 1908 thermoelectric power station, to the MAAT Gallery and the MAAT Garden on the Belém riverfront.

Full details

Brief Introduction This ticket gives access to all the museum's exhibitions and spaces, including the MAAT Gallery, the MAAT Central and the MAAT Garden. Inaugurated in October 2016 in the context of the cultural patronage policy long championed by the Fundação EDP, the MAAT, Museum of Art, Architecture and Technology, is an international institution dedicated to promoting critical discourse and creative practice in order to foster new understandings of the historical present and a responsible commitment to the future. Located on the riverfront of the historic district of Belém in Lisbon, the MAAT comprises a thermoelectric power station built in 1908, the MAAT Central, and a contemporary building, the MAAT Gallery, linked by a garden stretching along the Tagus, the MAAT Garden. In addition to its programme of temporary exhibitions and activities (the Agenda), the museum also includes permanent exhibitions, such as A Fábrica da Eletricidade in the Central, or the sculptures in the outdoor spaces. Drawing on the multiple layers of history preserved in its cultural and artistic heritage, the MAAT advocates a concept of the museum as a catalysing platform for turning discourse into action and for empowering the public in the exercise of its power of choice through the articulation of debate, the sharing of positions and the formulation of knowledge. With the aim of encouraging an open and transformative relationship between cultural institutions and social change, the museum seeks at once to question and to celebrate the intellectual ambitions and creative means through which we imagine (with art), inhabit (with architecture) and create (with technology) the world we live in — that is, the ways in which we constantly redefine our collective commitment to the planetary ecosystem to which we belong. Show original (Portuguese)

Breve Introdução Este bilhete dá acesso a todas as exposições e espaços do museu, incluindo o MAAT Gallery, o MAAT Central e o MAAT Garden.
