Teatro do Bairro Alto Lisbon

Nivine Kallas explores the resonances and points of tension between gesture and word, in a dance that dialogues with the Arabic language, its script, rhythm, inflections and silences. Rooted in a childhood marked by absence and silence in the Lebanese education system, the piece revisits the image of a classroom window through which the mind escaped while the body remained confined.

Full details

Nivine Kallas explores the resonances and points of tension between gesture and word. Her dance dialogues with the Arabic language, its script and rhythm, its inflections and silences. SāHO is the fruit of her experience in the Lebanese education system, where language and discipline leave lasting marks on both body and memory. Rooted in a childhood marked by absence and silence, the piece revisits a recurring image: a classroom window through which the mind escaped while the body remained confined. Tickets: 12 €.

Show original (Portuguese)

12 € - bilhetes.
