The show unfolds in a newsroom where a group of journalists works on an article about Fado and Democracy. As they explore the work of Ary dos Santos and other authors relevant to 25 April, the night turns into a journey of memories, debates and celebration. The journalists relive poems, lyrics and songs, discussing themes such as politics, fascism, fado and cultural heritage. The narrative evolves from a simple work session into an immersive experience, where music and poetry come to life. The show culminates with the evocation of the dawn of 25 April, symbolising the awakening of freedom in Portugal. Technical details: Companhia da Esquina. Written and directed by Jorge Gomes Ribeiro; with Sofia Ramos, Ricardo Raposo and Pedro Pernas, and musicians António Martins (Portuguese guitar) and Pedro Saltão (viola de fado).
