Between Samurai and Violins | Lisbon Music Academy | Commented Concerts

11:00 Centro Cultural de Belém Belém Lisbon

17,5€ Live music

Commented concert by Susana Henriques. Lisbon Music Academy. Between Samurai and Violins proposes a musical journey inspired by the life and thought of Shinichi Suzuki, a major figure in 20th-century music pedagogy. Born into a lineage of samurai and a member of the family that owned the world's largest instrument factory, his path was marked by a late discovery of the violin, by his time in Berlin, by his friendship with Einstein and by the formulation of the 'mother tongue' principle. This concert celebrates a legacy that combines discipline, listening and affection, revealing music as a language of formation, sharing and growth. Between tradition and innovation, this concert promotes an immersive experience, capable of transforming performers and audiences on both sides of the stage.

Full details

Synopsis You don't sing at the table?! Who said that? That spectacular object, meeting point, side wall, insect ceiling, raised floor, so often rectangular! And what if a song helps digestion? And changes opinions? We ask permission right at the entrance, turn the rules upside down, and only leave the table when the song ends. Because a mouth that thinks doesn't stay quiet! And there's still dessert, which is imagined. A concert sung from the four corners... of the table.
