Between Samurai and Violins | Lisbon Music Academy | Commented Concerts

11:00 Centro Cultural de Belém Belém Lisbon

17,5€ Live music

Commented concert by Susana Henriques. Lisbon Music Academy. Between Samurai and Violins proposes a musical journey inspired by the life and thought of Shinichi Suzuki, a major figure in 20th-century music pedagogy. Born into a lineage of samurai and a member of the family that owned the world's largest instrument factory, his path was marked by a late discovery of the violin, by his time in Berlin, by his friendship with Einstein and by the formulation of the 'mother tongue' principle. This concert celebrates a legacy that combines discipline, listening and affection, revealing music as a language of formation, sharing and growth. Between tradition and innovation, this concert promotes an immersive experience, capable of transforming performers and audiences on both sides of the stage.

A sensory show for babies where emotions take on colour, shape and sound through sounds, rhythms and melodies. A journey of discovery and affection for the little ones.

Full details

Synopsis Emotions gain colour, shape and sound in an enchanting sensory universe. Through sounds, rhythms and melodies, soundscapes take babies on a journey of discovery and affection. Each emotion, a colour: joy vibrates Yellow in a G major tone. Sadness plays like a hurried Blue drop at the spring. Fear stirs in a dark, black shadow that scares us, until calm calms us and blows hope, as if we touched a Green field of fresh grass. Red, that Pum Pum that enrages us, relieves the colour. It fades into flower Pink and, in the end, we join the Dá Dás for the best melody of a single song. Pum Pum Dá! Dá! Gives us a steady beat and a sensory dive where they feel, touch and listen to what words cannot yet say. Show original (Portuguese)
