11:00 Centro Cultural de Belém Belém Lisbon

17,5€ Live music

Commented concert by Susana Henriques. Lisbon Music Academy. Between Samurai and Violins proposes a musical journey inspired by the life and thought of Shinichi Suzuki, a major figure in 20th-century music pedagogy. Born into a lineage of samurai and a member of the family that owned the world's largest instrument factory, his path was marked by a late discovery of the violin, by his time in Berlin, by his friendship with Einstein and by the formulation of the 'mother tongue' principle. This concert celebrates a legacy that combines discipline, listening and affection, revealing music as a language of formation, sharing and growth. Between tradition and innovation, this concert promotes an immersive experience, capable of transforming performers and audiences on both sides of the stage.

A play by Daniel Céu Silva about three imprisoned women questioning freedom, womanhood, and life, reflecting on democracy and what remains of it.

Full details

Synopsis Democracy has been invaded. Taken from what it was. A cell, a bible and three women, who surprisingly are sisters. Let's imagine that today we return to what we were. To a country without a face and without a name. Three women imprisoned, because they tried to fight for what remained of freedom. Now, together, locked up, they question everything. About being free, about being a woman, about death, about life. Because when we are silent, all the questions we never dared to ask come to the surface. 48 years of dictatorship, 52 of democracy... and now? How many years will we be without freedom? A new show by Daniel Céu Silva that makes us think about freedom and the times we live in today. Show original (Portuguese)
