Between Samurai and Violins | Lisbon Music Academy | Commented Concerts

11:00 Centro Cultural de Belém Belém Lisbon

17,5€ Live music

Commented concert by Susana Henriques. Lisbon Music Academy. Between Samurai and Violins proposes a musical journey inspired by the life and thought of Shinichi Suzuki, a major figure in 20th-century music pedagogy. Born into a lineage of samurai and a member of the family that owned the world's largest instrument factory, his path was marked by a late discovery of the violin, by his time in Berlin, by his friendship with Einstein and by the formulation of the 'mother tongue' principle. This concert celebrates a legacy that combines discipline, listening and affection, revealing music as a language of formation, sharing and growth. Between tradition and innovation, this concert promotes an immersive experience, capable of transforming performers and audiences on both sides of the stage.

🎤 Norquestra turns the audience into co-creator at the CCB's Big Bang Festival Norquestra premieres at the Big Bang Festival with a question rarely asked in a concert: what happens to the music inside the person who creates, plays or listens to it? António-Pedro's creation, developed in dialogue with musicians and neuroscientists, transforms the Black Box of the Centro Cultural de Belém into an improvisation laboratory where the audience stops being merely a spectator. Over about 45 minutes, different devices allow the audience's interventions to change the course of the music in real time. António-Pedro, on drums, percussion and voice, and João Clemente, on electric guitar and electronics, thus build a composition that changes with each session and brings together artistic creation, listening and research into how we experience sound. 📅 Date: 2 and 3 October 2026 ⏰ Time: 2 Oct: 10h00 and 15h15; 3 Oct: 11h00 and 13h30 📍 Venue: Centro Cultural de Belém, Black Box, Praça do Império, 1449-003 Lisboa, Portugal 💸 Tickets: 3,50 € a 4,50 € 🎟️ Tickets / official page: https://event.bol.pt/Comprar/Bilhetes/181118-festival_big_bang_norquestra-ccb/ Discover more events in Lisbo
