Commented concert by Susana Henriques. Lisbon Music Academy. Between Samurai and Violins proposes a musical journey inspired by the life and thought of Shinichi Suzuki, a major figure in 20th-century music pedagogy. Born into a lineage of samurai and a member of the family that owned the world's largest instrument factory, his path was marked by a late discovery of the violin, by his time in Berlin, by his friendship with Einstein and by the formulation of the 'mother tongue' principle. This concert celebrates a legacy that combines discipline, listening and affection, revealing music as a language of formation, sharing and growth. Between tradition and innovation, this concert promotes an immersive experience, capable of transforming performers and audiences on both sides of the stage.

The musical Come from Away by Irene Sankoff and David Hein runs at the Capitólio in Lisbon from 30 December 2025 to 4 October 2026, staged by Pedro Pernas. It follows the residents of Gander, Canada, who welcomed nearly 7,000 passengers from 38 diverted planes after the 11 September 2001 attacks.
