Synopsis In the original choreography, the Bolero sounds in an inn in Andalusia, where a woman dances with a shawl and castanets on a table, surrounded by lounging men in a dimly lit setting. The atmosphere is one of seduction and culminates in ecstasy. Since then, the music has emancipated itself, becoming an icon of popular culture and the main hallmark of the name Ravel, but it represents much more: he was an illustrious representative of the diffuse sound textures typical of French music of his time, examples of which are the music he composed for the ballet Daphnis et Chloé, La mer by Debussy and Paraísos Artificiais by Luís de Freitas Branco. These four masterpieces of the symphonic repertoire impressively recreate fantastical imaginaries, with precision and fluidity and apparent simplicity. Sinopse Na coreografia original, o Bolero soa numa estalagem da Andaluzia, onde uma mulher dança com xaile e castanholas sobre uma mesa, rodeada de homens refestelados num cenário a meia-luz. O clima é de sedução e culmina em êxtase. Desde então, a música emancipou-se, tornando-se num ícone da cultura popular e principal selo do nome Ravel , mas este representa muito mais: foi um ilustre representante das texturas sonoras difusas típicas da música francesa do seu tempo, de que são exemplos a música que compôs para o bailado Daphnis et Chloé , La mer de Debussy e Paraísos Artificiais de Luís de Freitas Branco.
