Fate seems to want to bring these two characters together on a tragicomic journey that combines an old story of family succession with a practical problem of the contemporary world. Maria do Céu Guerra and Maria Rueff finally meet on stage for a new “and happy” version of William Shakespeare's King Lear, where the relationship between the Fool and the King lets us dive into the great problems of our time: abandonment, old age, precarity, indifference, war and despair.
