In this workshop, participants learn the art of Indian miniature painting, from preparing watercolor paints from pigments to creating a final painting, exploring shading and transparencies, in an experience that also includes a chai.

Brief Introduction Workshop Indian Miniature Painting With Nic and Inês DATE November 14 TIME 10am to 1pm PARTICIPANTS Min. 8; max. 15 PRICE €40 NOTE Includes materials BUY Ages 16+ Indian miniature painting is characterized by its small scale, intense colors, and a frame that enhances the final work. Themes include references to Indian literature, such as fables and religious stories, but also elements of nature. In this workshop, we begin by introducing the art of Indian miniature painting. Then we prepare the support and watercolor paints from powdered pigment. Next, we will trace the drawing from the “model” - animal or plant elements - and color, exploring shading and transparencies. At the end of this workshop, each participant will have a painting made by themselves, having learned to create their own palette of watercolor colors. The workshop does not require prior knowledge and offers much more than the possibility of acquiring artistic techniques. Participants are invited to the meditative contemplation of miniature painting, as a way to learn about Indian art and culture from the perspective of artisans who hold the millenary traditions of know-how. A chai (tea with Indian spices) will be served. In case of cancellation: A full refund of the registration fee will be made if cancellation is communicated up to 8 working days before the activity. After that date, a refund can only be considered if the spot is filled or in cases of illness, accident, or other unforeseeable force majeure, duly proven. They met at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Lisbon, where they became professors. They dedicate themselves to creating and exhibiting their own experimental Artist's Books, teaching workshops in this area. They regularly promote conversations, performances, and workshops with prominent artists and authors in the fields of music, literature, and illustration, in an event called Parlapiê. More recently, they published illustrated children's books in Portugal, Brazil, and India. In 2016, they traveled around the world, a journey that took them to 3 continents in search of inspiration. Breve Introdução Oficina Pintura Miniatura Indiana Com Nic e Inês DATA 14 Novembro HORAS 10h às 13h PARTICIPANTES Mín.8; máx. 15 PREÇO €40 NOTA Inclui materiais COMPRAR M/16 anos A pintura miniatura indiana caracteriza-se pela pequena escala, cores intensas e uma moldura que realça o trabalho final. As temáticas incluem referências à literatura indiana, como fábulas e histórias religiosas, mas também elementos da natureza. Nesta oficina, começamos por introduzir a arte da pintura miniatura indiana. Segue-se a preparação do suporte e das tintas de aguarela, a partir do pigmento em pó. Em seguida, iremos traçar o desenho a partir do “modelo” - elementos animais ou vegetais , e colorir, explorando sombreados e transparências. No final desta oficina, cada participante terá uma pintura realizada por si, tento aprendido a criar uma paleta própria de cores de aguarela. A oficina não requer conhecimentos prévios e oferece muito mais que a possibilidade de adquirir técnicas artísticas. Os participantes são convidados à contemplação meditativa da pintura miniatura, como forma de conhecer a arte e cultura indianas na perspectiva dos artesãos detentores das tradições milenares do saber-fazer. Será servido um chai (chá com especiarias indianas) Em caso de desistência: Haverá lugar ao reembolso do valor total da inscrição quando a desistência for comunicada até 8 dias úteis antes da actividade. Depois dessa data, o reembolso só poderá ser considerado se o lugar for preenchido ou em situações de doença, acidente, ou outros imponderáveis de força maior, devidamente comprovados. Conheceram-se na Faculdade de Belas Artes da Universidade de Lisboa, onde se tornaram professores. Dedicam-se a criar e a expor os seus próprios Livros de Artista experimentais, ministrando workshops nesta área. Promovem regularmente conversas, actuações e workshops com artistas e autores proeminentes nas áreas da música, da literatura, e da ilustracão, num evento chamado Parlapiê. Mais recentemente, publicaram livros infantis ilustrados em Portugal, no Brasil e na Índia. Em 2016 deram a volta ao mundo, numa viagem que os levou a 3 continentes em busca de inspiração.
