Synopsis Pre-concert talk by Cesário Costa at 7:30 pm. Wonder Women L’Arpeggiata and Christina Pluhar With Wonder Women, L’Arpeggiata and Christina Pluhar propose a celebration of the creative force, expressiveness, and artistic legacy of women over the centuries. At the center of this program are striking works by 17th-century women composers such as Barbara Strozzi, Francesca Caccini, and Antonia Bembo. The soloists Céline Scheen, Benedetta Mazzucato, and Vincenzo Capezzuto interpret tragic and comic narratives populated by passionate heroines, mystical saints, enchanting figures, and ordinary characters confronted with the universal themes of love, destiny, and devotion.
