A band of dazzling appearance, Heroína carries in its name a sense of bravery, perfectly aligned with the most visceral intentions and promises yet to be fulfilled around the voice-guitar-bass-drums square. Recorded and mixed by Kellzo and mastered by Carlos Nascimento, this first album by the Lisbon-based quartet achieves the feat of faithfully and sublimely translating the essence of everything that has been delivered on stage in this (still) brief joint existence. With a past and, fundamentally, a present that encompasses hardcore, the most thunderous rock, the deconstruction of the canon, and the most sincere song, the four benevolent scoundrels of Heroína evoke those other wanderings not as a mere summary of them but as another music consummated by instinct, knowledge, and stubbornness. Belief in the most basic and honest foundations of rock as a psychoactive to find beauty in the grotesque, transcendence in the clatter, the life that pulses in that irascible death rattle of the mundane. They are, if we want to align by a kind of cartography and historical continuum, the closest thing that has ever embodied in this country the deviant spirit of Skin Graft, U.S. Maple, Melt Banana or Arab on Radar, in 11 (generally short) bombshells, thrown without shame and with total abandon in the form of intensely lived/delirious songs in the sinuous riffs of Martim's expansive guitar, the elusive pulse of Abras's bass, the blast beats and swing of Vasco's drums, and the open-air clamor of the voice and prosaic lyricism of Jarda, the first and last of the noise rock romantics of the borough. From the initial minute of impetuous fury of 'Corre', to the memorable stop-start of 'Escarro', passing through the stumbling blows of 'Lavanda', the stagger of 'Heroína', the electrified vertigo over the abyss of 'Vigilante' to the final headbanging with 'Amigo Padre', 'Heroína', released by Cafetra Records, aims to keep pace with the present, as if setting fire to the stoic foundations of the past, to throw oneself with faith into the void that remains, for another life.

Banda de aparição fulgurante, Heroína carrega no nome um sentido de bravura, perfeitamente alinhado com as intenções mais viscerais e as promessas por cumprir em torno do quadrado voz-guitarra-baixo-bateria. Captado e misturado por Kellzo e masterizado por Carlos Nascimento, este primeiro álbum do quarteto sediado em Lisboa, consegue a proeza de traduzir de forma igualmente fiel e sublimada a essência de tudo aquilo que tem sido entregue em palco nesta (ainda) breve existência conjunta. Com passado e, fundamentalmente, um presente que açambarca o hardcore, o rock mais estrepitoso, a desconstrução do cânone e a canção mais sincera, os quatro meliantes benévolos de Heroína evocam essas outras andanças não como mera súmula das mesmas mas como uma outra música consumada por instinto, saber e teimosia. Crença nas fundações mais basilares e honestas do rock como psicoativo para encontrar a beleza no grotesco, a transcendência no estrilho, a vida que palpita naquele estertor irascível do mundano. São, se quisermos alinhar por uma espécie de cartografia e contínuo histórico, aquilo que de mais próximo alguma vez encarnou neste país o espírito desviante da Skin Graft , U.S. Maple, Melt Banana ou Arab on Radar , em 11 petardos (regra geral) bem breves, atirados sem pejo e com todo o abandono sob a forma de canções intensamente vividas=alucinadas nos riffs sinuosos da guitarra expansiva de Martim, no pulso esquivo do baixo de Abras, nos blast beats e balanço da bateria de Vasco e no clamor a céu aberto da voz e da lírica prosaica de Jarda, o primeiro e último dos românticos do noise rock do burgo. Do minuto inicial de fúria intempestiva de ‘Corre’, ao pára-arranca memorável de ‘Escarro’, passando pelos sopros trôpegos de ‘Lavanda’, o cambaleio de ‘Heroína’, a vertigem electrificada sobre o abismo de ‘Vigilante’ até ao headbaging final com ‘Amigo Padre’, ‘Heroína’, editado pela Cafetra Records, trata de acertar passo aos dias de hoje, como quem pega fogo aos alicerces estóicos do passado, para se atirar com fé ao vazio que daí resta, para uma outra vida.
