Synopsis Teatro Nacional D. Maria II resumes its internship programme for recently graduated performers. Each year, four young people will join the theatre's cast, taking their first steps in the profession in a real territory of artistic experimentation. This initiative is linked to a programme of workshops and masterclasses taught by renowned creators. In 2026, the pedagogical journey will culminate in a special show: The Bald Soprano, one of the founding texts of the Theatre of the Absurd. Written in 1950, the play dismantles the logic of communication and social interaction through circular dialogues, banal situations that derail, and characters trapped in a daily life where language no longer seems to mean anything. The staging will be by Beatriz Batarda, an actress, director and teacher recognised in theatre and cinema, with vast experience in teaching acting techniques. With this production, D. Maria II reinforces its role as a space for transition between training and professional practice, contributing to the renewal of the Portuguese theatrical fabric. Sinopse Teatro Nacional D. Maria II retoma o programa de estágios para intérpretes recém-licenciadas/os. Anualmente, quatro jovens integrarão o elenco do teatro, dando os primeiros passos na profissão num território real de experimentação artística. Esta iniciativa articula-se com um programa de oficinas e masterclasses, ministradas por criadores de renome. Em 2026, o percurso pedagógico irá culminar num espetáculo especial: A Cantora Careca, um dos textos fundadores do Teatro do Absurdo. Escrita em 1950, a peça desmonta a lógica da comunicação e da convivência social através de diálogos circulares, situações banais que descarrilam e personagens presas num quotidiano onde a linguagem parece já não dizer nada. A encenação ficará a cargo de Beatriz Batarda, atriz, encenadora e pedagoga reconhecida no teatro e no cinema, com vasta experiência no ensino de técnicas de representação. Com esta produção, o D. Maria II reforça o seu papel enquanto espaço de transição entre a formação e a prática profissional, contribuindo para a renovação do tecido teatral português.
