From their humble, sweaty beginnings in a garage, kicking up psych lo-fi dust from the rug, to their rise to imposing festival stages such as Trans Musicales or Eurosonic and an appearance on KEXP, the gradual recognition of this Braga quartet over the last decade has been won through grit and bravado, in step with their own evolution. Or, in other words, through the creation of an increasingly distinct and self-assured identity. Natural, but never easy. Ever more removed from the sphere of influence of bands like Slift or King Gizzard & The Lizard, the band made up of David Ferreira, Gonçalo Carneiro, Gonçalo Ferreira and David Ferreira revealed, quite incisively, the intensity of their heavy, trashy, half-progressive psychedelic rock with the release of the celebrated Astromorph God in 2025, following the laminar process operated on Ano Luz and Sinking Creation. On that upward curve, Travo present here the brand-new Wasteland, a record that amplifies the stellar projections of Astromorph Gods to a fusion point where expansive guitar leads, galloping rhythms, cascades of fuzz, spectral synthesizer passages, wah-wah deliriums, echoes and vocal melodies between the shriek and 70s memorabilia crystallise into a blow as physical in its sonic musculature as it is open to mental reveries. Dos seus inícios humildes e suados na garagem a levantar do tapete uma poeira psych lo-fi à ascensão a palcos de festivais imponentes como o Trans Musicales ou Eurosonic e aparição na KEXP, o reconhecimento gradual deste quarteto bracarense ao longo da última década tem-se feito a pulso e bravura à medida da sua própria evolução. Ou, por outras palavras, na criação de uma identidade cada vez mais vincada e segura de si mesma. Natural, mas nunca fácil. Cada vez mais arredados da esfera de influência de bandas como Slift ou King Gizzard & The Lizard, a banda composta por David Ferreira, Gonçalo Carneiro, Gonçalo Ferreira e David Ferreira revelou de forma bem incisiva a intensidade do seu rock psicadélico pesado, trashy e meio progressivo com a edição do celebrado Astromorph God em 2025, após o processo laminar operado em Ano Luz e Sinking Creation . Nessa curva ascendente, os Travo apresentam aqui o novíssimo Wasteland , disco que amplifica as projecções estelares de Astromorph Gods a um ponto de fusão onde os leads de guitarra expansivos, ritmos galopantes, cascatas de fuzz, passagens espectrais de sintetizador, delírios de wah wah, ecos e melodias vocais entre o berro e a memorabilia 70s se cristalizam num baque tão físico na sua musculatura sónica quanto aberto para devaneios mentais.
