Brief Introduction Writing a Haiku Workshop With Leonilda Alfarrobinha DATES Saturdays | 21 and 28 November TIME 10h30 às 12h30 PARTICIPANTS Max. 15 PRICE €30 Note: This workshop will be conducted in Portuguese Haiku ( ?? ) is a poetic form practiced by all social classes in Japan. Linked to Nature and daily life, anyone can find sources of inspiration to produce a haiku. Writing haiku is an exemplary practice of refinement, because in these poems each word must be placed in the right place. But... what is haiku? What is evidence and what is mystery in this poetic form of Japanese origin? Haiku goes beyond literature: it can be a lifestyle, a means of self-knowledge, a possibility of introspection and inner re-balancing, a path to Nature. Alongside its enormous popularity in Japan, haiku has been gaining followers all over the world. In this two-session workshop, we challenge you to write a haiku. We will start by getting to know this poetic form better - origin, characteristics, influences in the West, authors and works - through the analysis of Japanese and Portuguese poems. Then, participants will explore the expressive resources of haiku to create their own poem. Leonilda Alfarrobinha has a degree in Romance Philology and began studying Japanese language and culture in 1990. The haiku poetic form immediately attracted her attention. In 2003, she completed a postgraduate degree in General Oriental Studies and in 2007 published a book of haikus in Portuguese, O Respirar das Flores. She visited Japan several times and in 2015 presented a Master's thesis at the Catholic University entitled 'Ao Encontro da Natureza através da Poesia Haiku de Matsuo Bashô'. Prices Entry - 30€

Ligado à Natureza e à vida quotidiana, qualquer pessoa pode encontrar motivos de inspiração para produzir um haiku. A escrita do haiku é uma prática exemplar de depuração, pois nestes poemas cada palavra deve estar colocada no sítio certo. Mas… o que é o haiku? O que é evidência e o que é mistério nesta forma poética de origem japonesa? O haiku está para além da literatura: pode ser um estilo de vida, um meio de autoconhecimento, uma possibilidade de introspecção e re-equilíbrio interior, um caminho para a Natureza. A par da sua enorme popularidade no Japão, o haiku tem vindo a conquistar adeptos um pouco por todo o mundo. Nesta oficina em duas sessões, desafiamos a escrever um haiku. Começaremos por conhecer melhor esta forma poética - origem, características, influências no Ocidente, autores e obras - através da análise de poemas japoneses e portugueses. Em seguida, os participantes vão explorar os recursos expressivos do haiku para criar o seu próprio poema. Leonilda Alfarrobinha é licenciada em Filologia Românica, tendo iniciado o estudo da língua e cultura japonesa em 1990. A forma poética haiku atraiu, desde logo, a sua atenção. Em 2003, concluiu uma pós-graduação em Estudos Orientais Gerais e em 2007 publicou um livro de haikus em português, O Respirar das Flores.
