Cordel, a project by Edu Mundo and João Pires, performs at the Auditório do Liceu Camões on November 4, with the new album Volume II.

Full details

Cordel is born from the collaboration between musicians and singer-songwriters Edu Mundo and João Pires, in a journey that intertwines Portuguese popular music with Lusophone sonic heritages. The project reinvents forms such as chula, vira, fado, and marcha popular, fusing them with African and Brazilian rhythms in authorial compositions. Through a dialogue between melodies, words, and affective geographies, the duo celebrates orality, memory, and sharing. Released in May 2025, Volume II is the new chapter of Cordel. The sound environment refers to a mixture of influences ranging from Camões to Manoel de Barros, from Fausto to José Mário Branco, from Tom Jobim to Chico Buarque, also passing through Travadinha or Cesária… The album includes ten new tracks and a special participation by Salvador Sobral, on Nau Frágil. On November 4, Cordel presents itself in concert at the Auditório do Liceu Camões. Portuguese music.
