Synopsis One of the biggest voices in UK Rap comes to Lisbon (Capitólio) for the first time in his own name, on October 20th, to present "Locked In", a highly anticipated project arriving on digital platforms in September. Pre-sale is now available until the 4th at 4pm, and general sale starts on the 7th at 10am. Today, Nemzzz is one of the most streamed rappers in the UK, opening the door to a global audience, while keeping his roots in Gorton, South Manchester. It was in 2018 that he began to sharpen his tongue and pen over beats he found on YouTube, but his artistic development came from within his family: a reggae vocalist father and a beatmaker mother, who developed the British rapper's first influences. He remembers imitating Vybz Kartel, although his deepest musical memories come from an eclectic mix of his parents' records - from Bob Marley to Lauryn Hill and SMW. In his own words: "I always loved those old-school classics. I'm a different age to those artists, living a completely different life, but I just feel the music. That's how it's always been." MR. DND didn't just arrive nor is he here to be one in a million. At thirteen he was already releasing his first tracks - with a short break that made him reflect on the sound he wanted to pursue - and in 2021, alarms sounded for the rapper's originality with the single "Elevate". The introverted yet confident tones and a unhurried flow, marked by a voice that blends deeply with the instrumentals, earned him a music video sponsored by GRM Daily. Followed "2MS" and the great confirmation that a new phenomenon was born, with the first mixtape "Do Not Disturb", in 2024, debuting at #17 on the UK Albums Chart and becoming a success throughout Europe and Oceania, with collaborations with K-Trap, Headie One and Lil Yachty, and longtime producer Zel, who has left his mark on melodic drill. He continued to assert himself with new singles, EPs and activations that caught the attention of the big sharks, like Drake, with the single "8AM in Manny" and followed "Rent's Due", the second studio album, with several hits and collaborations such as "COLD", "BAD DECISIONS" or "DILLEMA" with Central Cee and producer Nathan, whose sonic signature is distinguished by the fusion of UK Drill, Amapiano and other African music influences, which has left its stamp on the industry. The introverted yet punchy musical stance decorated with new drill instrumentals, with drums that soften the style and sense of relaxation, make Nemzzz a phenomenon that delights the masses, as can be seen from a quick TikTok search with countless results of beats, rhymes and aesthetics associated with the artist that many see as an influence. Few artists achieve the same composure and consistency as Nemzzz. As his audience continues to grow around the world, his approach remains unchanged and at just twenty-two years old he already has a conscious vision of his music and career: "The only way you can have a long-lasting career is if you’re original."
