Teatro Maria Matos Alvalade · Lisbon

In October, Maria Matos hosts Treze Raios, the meeting between Madeiran guitarist André Santos and Porto collective Sopa de Pedra: original repertoire born from artistic residencies in Madeira, where the sound of the conch shell, kneaded bread, prayers and stories of emigration, levadas, embroiderers and whale fishing feed a dialogue between solo guitar and voices singing.

Full details

In October, the Maria Matos receives the show Treze Raios, the result of the meeting between Madeiran guitarist André Santos and Porto collective Sopa de Pedra. The project was born from two artistic residencies in Madeira dedicated to collecting, creating and crossing artistic paths. Over two weeks, the artists travelled the island, gathering testimonies from the local community. The sound of the conch shell, the rhythm of kneaded bread, the prayers, the stories of emigration, of the levadas, of the embroiderers, of whale fishing and of folklore groups provided the starting point for the creation of original repertoire that culminates in this concert. Treze Raios is thus born from this meeting between solo guitar and voices singing. 20 €. guitar.

Show original (Portuguese)

20 €. guitarra.
