In the heart of a neighbourhood slated for demolition to build a hotel, Antigone conducts a choir of residents in defence of a human-scale city, dialoguing with Sophocles to reflect on the housing crisis and the cities we want. Part of Passe Cultura, with tickets only available at the theatre box office.

Full details

In the heart of a neighbourhood that will be destroyed for the construction of a hotel, Antigone directs a choir of residents. In this show we watch her defence of a city with a human scale, governed by humanist values, focused on building its citizens rather than on the economic value of its buildings. This project inscribes Antigone's resistance in the housing and urban planning crisis we are living through, dialoguing with Sophocles' narrative to reflect on which cities we desire. Part of Passe Cultura - only available at the theatre box office. Technical sheet: Based on the myth of Antigone; dramaturgy and direction by Guilherme Gomes; with Nuno Nunes, Siobhan Fernandes and Sónia Barbosa; special participation of the Coro da Achada directed by Leonardo Outeiro.
