Tribunal Constitucional | Palácio Ratton Lisbon

The Constitutional Court opens the doors of the Palácio Ratton for guided tours explaining the palace's history and the Court's functions, with visits adapted to schools and children aged 8 to 12, including a mini-plenary where the youngest decide a case as if they were real judges. Prior booking required.

The Constitutional Court conducts guided tours with the aim of deepening all citizens' knowledge of the functions and competences of this body of sovereignty. The route is accompanied by an explanation of the history of the Palácio Ratton, its rooms and the functions of the Constitutional Court, also revealing unexpected places, such as the garden and the library. The tours are open to the general public, to groups with an interest in the field of Law and to schools (children aged 8 to 12). The youngest visitors are explained the role of the Constitutional Court in defending the fundamental rights enshrined in the Constitution and there is talk of what changed with 25 April. It is also possible to take part in a mini-plenary, where the little ones decide on a case as if they were real judge-councillors of the Court. Tours require prior booking. O Tribunal Constitucional realiza visitas guiadas com o objetivo de aprofundar o conhecimento de todos os cidadãos sobre as funções e as competências deste órgão de soberania. O percurso é acompanhado de uma explicação sobre a história do Palácio Ratton, as suas salas e as funções do Tribunal Constitucional, revelando ainda locais inesperados, como o jardim e a biblioteca. As visitas são abertas ao público em geral, a grupos com interesse na área do Direito e às escolas (crianças dos 8 aos 12 anos). Aos mais novos explica-se o papel do Tribunal Constitucional na defesa dos direitos fundamentais consagrados na Constituição e fala-se sobre o que mudou com o 25 de Abril. É ainda possível participar num mini-plenário, onde os mais pequenos decidem sobre um caso como se fossem verdadeiros juízes conselheiros do Tribunal. As visitas requerem marcação prévia.
