Nemzzz, one of the biggest voices in UK Rap, brings his new project 'Locked In' to Capitólio, Lisbon, for a first headline show.

Full details

SynopsisOne of the biggest voices in UK Rap arrives in Lisbon (Capitólio) for the first time in his own name, on 20 October, to present “Locked In”, a project with very high expectations that arrives on digital platforms in September. Pre-sale is already available until the 4th, at 4 p.m., and general sales begin on the 7th, at 10 a.m.Today, Nemzzz is one of the most streamed rappers in the UK, opening up space for a global audience, while keeping his roots in Gorton, in the south of Manchester. It was in 2018 that he began sharpening his tongue and pen over beats he found on YouTube, but the school for his artistic development came from within the family: a father who was a reggae vocalist and a mother who was a beatmaker, who developed the first influences of the British rapper. He remembers imitating Vybz Kartel, although his deepest musical memories come from an eclectic mix of his parents' records - from Bob Marley to Lauryn Hill and SMW. In his own words: “I always loved those old-school classics. I'm a different age to those artists, living a completely different life, but I just feel the music. That's how it's always been.”MR. DND didn't just arrive now, nor did he come to be one in a million. At thirteen he was already releasing his first tracks - with a brief hiatus that made him reflect on the sound he wanted to pursue - and in 2021, alarms sounded for the rapper's originality, with the single “Elevate”. The introverted but confident tones and an unhurried flow, marked by a voice that blends deeply with the instrumentals, earned him a music video sponsored by GRM Daily. This was followed by “2MS” and the great confirmation that a new phenomenon had been born, with the first mixtape “Do Not Disturb”, in 2024, debuting at number 17 on the UK Albums Charts and achieving success throughout Europe and Oceania, with collaborations with K-Trap, Headie One or Lil Yachty, and the long-time producer who has left his mark on melodic drill, Zel.He established himself with new singles, EPs and activations that caught the attention of the big sharks, such as Drake, with the single “8AM in Manny”, followed by “Rent's Due”, the second studio album, with several hits and collaborations such as “COLD”, “BAD DECISIONS” or “DILLEMA” with Central Cee and producer Nathan, whose sound signature is distinguished by the fusion of UK Drill, Amapiano and other African music influences, which has left its stamp on the industry. The introverted yet punchy musical stance, decorated with new drill instrumentals, with drums that soften the style and the sense of ease, make Nemzzz a phenomenon that charms the masses, as can be verified by a brief search on TikTok with countless results of beats, rhymes and aesthetics associated with the artist whom many see as an influence.Few artists achieve the same composure and consistency as Nemzzz. While the audience continues to grow all over the world, his approach remains unchanged and, at just twenty-two years old, he already has a conscious vision of his music and career: “The only way you can have a long-lasting career is if you're original.” (CRACK).After the release of “From Me 2 You”, Nemzzz entered the «Locked In» era with a series of singles, including «GEEKIN», featuring Lil Yachty, “Locked In Freestyle” and “KILLIN EM”. Each release reflected a more defined focus, both sonically and personally, paving the way for “Locked In”, which does not mark the arrival of a new artist, but the moment when a distinctive voice for UK Rap reaches its full potential.Tickets are already available at bol . pt and at the usual outlets.PricesGeneral - €25

Show original (Portuguese)

Nas palavras do próprio: "I always loved those old-school classics. I'm a different age to those artists, living a completely different life, but I just feel the music. That's how it's always been." MR. The only way you can have a long-lasting career is if you’re original.” (CRACK).
