Korean tea ceremony workshop where participants explore autumn traditions, taste different teas and treats, and learn about Korean culture.

In South Korea, tea is not just a drink, but also a moment of pause and conviviality. The tea ceremony or 'darye' is a ritual of encounter and sharing that involves conversation and reading poems, while enjoying the taste and aroma of tea. In this session, we will explore the traditions and particularities of the tea ceremony in autumn. While tasting different teas and typical delicacies, participants will become aware of how the different seasons manifest in traditional Korean arts. Program Tea tasting Tasting of traditional Korean cakes Presentation of poems related to the season Conversation about Korean culture, history, while enjoying tea, poems and snacks Sejin Cho is a visual artist from South Korea, graduated in painting from Hongik University. Since 2018, she lives and works in Lisbon, maintaining a link to Korea, where she spends long periods, pursuing her artistic career. In June 2024 she held a tea ceremony as part of the Korean Cultural Festival. She is passionate about tea and its culture.
