In South Korea, tea is not just a drink, but also a moment of pause and conviviality. The tea ceremony or 'darye' is a ritual of encounter and sharing that involves conversation and reading poems, while enjoying the taste and aroma of tea. In this session, we will explore the traditions and particularities of the tea ceremony in autumn. While tasting different teas and typical delicacies, participants will become aware of how the different seasons manifest in traditional Korean arts. Program Tea tasting Tasting of traditional Korean cakes Presentation of poems related to the season Conversation about Korean culture, history, while enjoying tea, poems and snacks Sejin Cho is a visual artist from South Korea, graduated in painting from Hongik University. Since 2018, she lives and works in Lisbon, maintaining a link to Korea, where she spends long periods, pursuing her artistic career. In June 2024 she held a tea ceremony as part of the Korean Cultural Festival. She is passionate about tea and its culture. Prices In case of cancellation: There will be a full refund of the registration fee if cancellation is communicated up to 8 working days before the activity. After that date, a refund can only be considered if the spot is filled or in cases of illness, accident, or other unforeseeable circumstances of force majeure, duly proven. Na Coreia do Sul, o chá não é apenas uma bebida, mas também um momento de pausa e convívio. A cerimónia do chá ou “darye”, é um ritual de encontro e partilha que envolve conversa e leitura de poemas, enquanto se aprecia o sabor e aroma do chá. Nesta sessão, vamos explorar as tradições e particularidades da cerimónia do chá no Outono. Enquanto provam diferentes chás e iguarias típicas, os participantes vão despertar para a forma como as diferentes estações se manifestam nas arte tradicionais coreanas.
