A film cycle at Casa da Achada – Centro Mário Dionísio inspired by photographer Giuseppe Morandi, with October screenings devoted to filmmakers and collectives who know intimately the worlds they film, from Agnès Varda to Martin Scorsese.
Giuseppe Morandi (1937-2024), author of the photographs exhibited at Casa da Achada, Centro Mário Dionísio, gave back, through his work, voice, dignity, visibility and history to the people around him. As he himself stated: "I am not interested in bricks or stones, I am interested in people, and their way of living, how they are made, what faces they have, what arms they have, what feet they have. How they present themselves, how they act." This film cycle, inspired by the work and attitude of this figure of Italian culture, proposes a look at filmmakers and collectives who know intimately the universes they filmed. (…) Casa da Achada.
