Part of the 27th French Cinema Festival, Parallel Stories marks Oscar-winning Iranian director Asghar Farhadi's foray into a playful Hitchcockian game presented in Competition at Cannes: while spying on her neighbours for inspiration for her new novel, Sylvie draws young Adam into a fiction that quickly spirals out of her control. It stars Isabelle Huppert, Vincent Cassel and Virginie Efira, with a special appearance by Catherine Deneuve.
