The Convento dos Cardaes offers two themed tours on 15 and 16 October at 11am exploring how Saint Teresa of Ávila is remembered in the convent's religious life, art and imagery. Each visit costs 8 euros and registration is required.
The Convento dos Cardaes offers a look at the figure of Saint Teresa of Jesus and at how her memory traverses the history and heritage of this house of Carmelite tradition. Throughout the visit, we go through the spaces and works that allow us to understand the saint's place in the religious and artistic life of the Convent. 16 October: 11 a.m. Saint Teresa of Ávila, Art and Representation at the Convento dos Cardaes. This second visit focuses on the image: how Saint Teresa was represented, what messages these representations sought to convey, and how they dialogue with the space that houses them. It is a reading more attentive to artistic detail, complementary to the previous day's visit but which can be done independently. €8. heritage.
