A theatre show that takes Camões out of the books, giving voice to the poet and to contemporary authors like Sophia de Melo Breyner and José Saramago, performed by Paulo Filipe and Lídia Franco.
Synopsis Camões must be taken out of the books. Say it out loud. Make it happen. A show that gives voice, on the one hand, to Camões (from the lyric poetry, the epic and the letters), and on the other to the contemporary poets who climbed onto the shoulders of the giant and dialogued with him, such as Jorge de Sena, Eugénio de Andrade, Sophia de Melo Breyner, Miguel Torga, Guerra Junqueiro, José Saramago, Manuel Alegre, Jorge Sousa Braga and Ernesto Melo e Castro. Two actors: Paulo Filipe and Lídia Franco, but there will be guests, one of them a musician, because musicality is a structuring element of Camões' poetry. We do not call it a recital, so there is no chance of confusion with the classical format. It will be a spoken Camões, like two people talking about their thoughts, emotions, traumas and dreams. People with bodies and physicality. In search of images, also visual ones, that allow the audience to take hold of Camões in a contemporary context. A Camões out of the books and out of the boxes.
