17,5€ Live music

Commented concert by Susana Henriques. Lisbon Music Academy. Between Samurai and Violins proposes a musical journey inspired by the life and thought of Shinichi Suzuki, a major figure in 20th-century music pedagogy. Born into a lineage of samurai and a member of the family that owned the world's largest instrument factory, his path was marked by a late discovery of the violin, by his time in Berlin, by his friendship with Einstein and by the formulation of the 'mother tongue' principle. This concert celebrates a legacy that combines discipline, listening and affection, revealing music as a language of formation, sharing and growth. Between tradition and innovation, this concert promotes an immersive experience, capable of transforming performers and audiences on both sides of the stage.

João Só and Tiago Nogueira share the stage in a concert of covers and songs that marked their lives, from Billy Joel to Bárbara Bandeira, with opening act João Castilho.

Full details

Producer Primeira Linha, Lda Synopsis João and Tiago are two biblical names. That, all of a sudden, is perhaps the only thing that can be said about the connection between the two, but Jerusalem was not the only place where the partnership worked. Or it was, but now it can work here too. Even if it doesn't, they will try hard, because the success of this project depends on the union of their efforts. Two musicians and, above all, lovers of songs share a stage to, in the manner of a romantic conversation, revisit the songs that taught them to love what is probably the most ancestral art that exists. In a show without borders, like the Games (in the distance one hears the anthem of the former EEC and current EU), João Só and Tiago Nogueira promise to visit songs and artists that were part of their growing up. This is, therefore, a concert for revivalists and music lovers in general. From Billy Joel to Quinta do Bill, from Barbra Streisand to Bárbara Bandeira, great hits mix with "guilty pleasures". It's music for music's sake. It's 'damn the consequences'! Damn the hour when João and Tiago stopped being just two names of apostles and decided to bet on this idea of evangelising the people to musicophilia. Show original (Portuguese)
