Rosemary: how to grow and use it. January 5 to December 18 | Mon to Fri: 10am-12pm or 2:30pm-4:30pm. This workshop aims to unveil all the secrets of growing rosemary, in order to obtain healthy plants, whether in the garden or in a window box. Participation: groups aged 8 to 14, seniors and people with special needs. Minimum of 8 and maximum of 25 participants per session. The Life of Trees. March 30 to December 11 | Mon to Fri: 10am-12pm or 2:30pm-4:30pm. Simulation of some interactions between trees and their environment, through a game with four teams. Participation: groups aged 8 to 12. Minimum of 11 and maximum of 20 participants per session. Creating Keepsakes. January 5 to October 2 | Mon to Fri: 10am-12pm or 2:30pm-4:30pm. Colorful flowers, curious seeds and small fruits will be explored, discovering their shapes, textures and stories. With these treasures of nature, each participant can create their own keepsake: a small object, collage or natural composition full of meaning. Participation: groups aged 3 to 14, seniors and people with special needs. Minimum of 8 and maximum of 25 participants per session. Espiga Day (Sheaf Day). May 11 to 22 | Mon to Fri: 10am-12pm or 2:30pm-4:30pm. On this day of traditional Portuguese celebration that takes place on Ascension Thursday (39 days after Easter), participants learn to make a bouquet with specific elements, such as the wheat sheaf, wildflowers, the little olive branch, poppies and rosemary or the vine, each with a symbolic meaning linked to fertility, abundance and protection. Participation: groups aged 3 to 14, seniors and people with special needs. Minimum of 8 and maximum of 25 participants per session. Botanical Printing on Clay. January 5 to December 18 | Mon to Fri: 10am-12pm or 2:30pm-4:30pm. Each participant will choose natural elements and gently press them onto the clay, creating unique impressions, as if nature were leaving its own signature. In addition to stimulating creativity and motor coordination, this activity invites care, curiosity and respect for nature, showing that it can be our partner in artistic creation. Participation: groups aged 6 to 14, seniors and people with special needs. Minimum of 8 and maximum of 25 participants per session. Sensory Garden. January 5 to December 18 | Mon to Fri: 10am-12pm or 2:30pm-4:30pm. Interactive space dedicated to awakening the five senses, where natural textures, the sounds of water, birds and wind, the colors and aromas of plants invite a full sensory experience, promoting harmony, balance and a deep connection with nature. Participation: groups aged 3 to 14, seniors and people with special needs. Minimum of 8 and maximum of 25 participants per session. Enchanted Vegetable Garden Game. May 4 to October 2 | Mon to Fri: 10am-12pm or 2:30pm-4:30pm. An interactive game that combines nature, animals, agriculture and festivities, inviting the player to live a magical adventure where every choice matters. By caring for the earth, planting, harvesting and cooperating with natural cycles, the player learns that balance, respect and collaboration are the true keys to success. The earth is alive, the animals are allies, and nature responds to the player's actions, flourishing when cared for, weakening when ignored. Participation: groups aged 8 to 12. Minimum of 8 and maximum of 25 participants per session. Creative Bookmarks. January 5 to December 18 | Mon to Fri: 10am-12pm or 2:30pm-4:30pm. A workshop where nature is transformed into art. Leaves, flowers and other natural elements gain new life in unique bookmarks, handmade to accompany future stories and reading moments. October 6 to December 18 | Mon to Fri: 10am-12pm or 2:30pm-4:30pm. The Christmas decoration creation workshops with nativity scenes invite children, young people, people with special needs and seniors to experience the true spirit of Christmas through art and tradition. During the workshops, participants learn to create nativity scenes using different materials, exploring artisanal techniques, creativity and cultural expression. Participation: groups aged 3 to 14, seniors and people with special needs. Minimum of 8 and maximum of 25 participants per session. Reuse with Art. January 5 to October 2 | Mon to Fri: 10am-12pm or 2:30pm-4:30pm. The Reuse with Art workshop is a creative and accessible space where participants are invited to explore imagination, the senses and artistic expression through the reuse of materials and elements found in nature. Leaves, branches, stones, seeds, shells, soil, dried flowers and other natural materials become raw material for creating unique decorative objects, handmade and full of meaning. Reusable materials such as paper, cardboard, jars, fabrics or corks are also integrated, promoting environmental awareness in a practical and fun way. Participation: groups aged 3 to 14, seniors and people with special needs. Minimum of 8 and maximum of 25 participants per session. Secrets of Trees. February 2 to December 11 | Mon to Fri: 10am-12pm or 2:30pm-4:30pm. The children, organized in teams, listen to information about 7 different trees at Quinta Conde dos Arcos, in 5 distinct locations, in order to solve questions as a team, through word challenges. At the end, they receive a “quantos-queres” (trivia card) game alluding to the trees. The winning team also receives the book “Histórias de Árvores da Quinta Conde dos Arcos” (Stories of Trees of Quinta Conde dos Arcos). Participation: groups aged 8 to 12. Minimum of 9 and maximum of 25 participants per session. Let's Plant a Tree. January 5 to December 18 | Mon to Fri: 10am-12pm or 2:30pm-4:30pm. The hands-on activity consists of the correct planting and maintenance of trees, covering essential care such as choosing the right location and preparing the soil. Participants receive guidance on the importance of tree species, their role in conserving biodiversity, protecting soil and water resources, as well as their contribution to improving air quality and regulating the climate. Participation: groups aged 3 to 14, seniors and people with special needs. Minimum of 8 and maximum of 25 participants per session. I'm Going to Be a Gardener. As crianças, organizadas em equipas, ouvem informações sobre 7 árvores diferentes da Quinta Conde dos Arcos, em 5 locais distintos, de modo a resolverem questões em equipa, através de desafios de palavras. No final recebem um jogo “quantos-queres” alusivo às árvores. A equipa vencedora recebe ainda o livro “Histórias de Árvores da Quinta Conde dos Arcos”. Participação: grupos dos 8 aos 12 anos. A atividade prática consiste na correta plantação e manutenção das árvores, onde são abordados cuidados essenciais como a escolha do local adequado e preparação do solo. Os participantes recebem orientações sobre a importância das espécies arbóreas, seu papel na conservação da biodiversidade, na proteção do solo e dos recursos hídricos, além de sua contribuição para a melhoria da qualidade do ar e regulação do clima. Vou ser Jardineiro. 5 de janeiro a 18 de dezembro | seg a sex: 10h-12h ou 14h30-16h30. Nesta oficina, os participantes aprendem a cuidar da natureza de forma divertida e prática. Vamos explorar juntos os segredos do solo, das sementes e das plantas, descobrindo como pequenos cuidados podem transformar um canteiro em um jardim cheio de vida. Participação: grupos dos 3 aos 14 anos de idade, seniores e pessoas com necessidades especiais. Mínimo de 8 e máximo de 25 participantes por sessão.
