Workshops organised by the Lisbon City Council's Gardening School, aiming to raise awareness and encourage children, young people and seniors to adopt sustainable practices and to recognise the importance of protecting natural resources, contributing to a healthier environment. Rosemary: how to grow and use it. 5 January to 18 December | Mon to Fri: 10h-12h or 14h30-16h30. This workshop aims to reveal all the secrets of growing rosemary, so as to obtain healthy plants, whether in the garden or in a window box. Participation: groups aged 8 to 14, seniors and people with special needs. Minimum of 8 and maximum of 25 participants per session. The Life of Trees. 30 March to 11 December | Mon to Fri: 10h-12h or 14h30-16h30. A simulation of some of the interactions between trees and their environment, through a game with four teams. Participation: groups aged 8 to 12. Minimum of 11 and maximum of 20 participants per session. Creating Keepsakes. 5 January to 2 October | Mon to Fri: 10h-12h or 14h30-16h30. Colourful flowers, curious seeds and small fruits will be explored, discovering their shapes, textures and stories. With these treasures of nature, each participant can create their own keepsake: a small object, collage or natural composition full of meaning. Participation: groups aged 3 to 14, seniors and people with special needs. Minimum of 8 and maximum of 25 participants per session. Dia da Espiga. 11 to 22 May | Mon to Fri: 10h-12h or 14h30-16h30. On this day of traditional Portuguese celebration, which takes place on Ascension Thursday (39 days after Easter), participants learn to make a bouquet with specific elements, such as the wheat ear, wild flowers, the olive sprig, poppies and rosemary or the vine, each with a symbolic meaning linked to fertility, abundance and protection. Participation: groups aged 3 to 14, seniors and people with special needs. Minimum of 8 and maximum of 25 participants per session. Botanical Printing on Clay. 5 January to 18 December | Mon to Fri: 10h-12h or 14h30-16h30. Each participant will choose natural elements and press them gently onto the clay, creating unique impressions, as if nature were leaving its own signature. As well as stimulating creativity and motor coordination, this activity invites care, curiosity and respect for nature, showing that it can be our partner in artistic creation. As crianças, organizadas em equipas, ouvem informações sobre 7 árvores diferentes da Quinta Conde dos Arcos, em 5 locais distintos, de modo a resolverem questões em equipa, através de desafios de palavras. No final recebem um jogo “quantos-queres” alusivo às árvores. A equipa vencedora recebe ainda o livro “Histórias de Árvores da Quinta Conde dos Arcos”. Participação: grupos dos 8 aos 12 anos. A atividade prática consiste na correta plantação e manutenção das árvores, onde são abordados cuidados essenciais como a escolha do local adequado e preparação do solo. Os participantes recebem orientações sobre a importância das espécies arbóreas, seu papel na conservação da biodiversidade, na proteção do solo e dos recursos hídricos, além de sua contribuição para a melhoria da qualidade do ar e regulação do clima. Participação: grupos dos 3 aos 14 anos de idade, seniores e pessoas com necessidades especiais. Mínimo de 8 e máximo de 25 participantes por sessão. Vamos explorar juntos os segredos do solo, das sementes e das plantas, descobrindo como pequenos cuidados podem transformar um canteiro em um jardim cheio de vida.
