Laurent Filipe celebrates the 100th anniversary of Miles Davis in a free concert in Estoril

Marking the centenary of Miles Davis's birth, Laurent Filipe presents a narrated concert at the Auditório Carlos Avilez, joined by Mário Delgado, Alexandre Frazão, Massimo Cavalli and Pedro Lopes. The Portuguese trumpeter revisits decisive moments of Davis's career and shows how he crossed and helped transform successive phases of modern jazz.

Máximo brings PANGEA to B.Leza, a trio project where jazz, voice and electronica meet in a musical reflection on the climate crisis, with Joppe van Noten on drums and Jan Honnef on bass. Live, the album's five tracks are expanded through improvisation, adding solo piano, spoken word, synthesizers and pre-recorded material.

Brief Introduction SILK PAINTING AND TEXTILE MEMORY WORKSHOP With Paulo Valle DATE | Saturday | 26 September HOURS | 14.00 to 18.00 PARTICIPANTS | Min. 4 Max. 10 PRICE | €70 (materials included) Discover the fascinating ancient technique of silk painting from a contemporary and personal angle! This workshop offers a practical and immersive approach to silk, exploring this noble material, historically linked to the East, not only for its technical side but as a living support for memory and artistic expression. Throughout the workshop, participants will learn to engage with the fluidity and lightness of the fabric through the use of paints specific to silk and the traditional resist technique (guta). Under the guidance of artist Paulo Valle, free gesture and sensitivity towards individual creation will be encouraged, combining experimentation with colour and composition. An excellent opportunity to acquire new artistic skills, relax and create an original and exclusive work on natural silk to take home. Paulo Valle is a Brazilian visual artist based in Lisbon since 2015 and holds a Master's degree in Art History from the University of Lisbon; he develops work recognised for its dialogue between memory, territory and matter. With solid experience as an art teacher, he teaches techniques ranging from watercolour to acrylic painting; his artistic practice spans painting and textile design, exploring concepts of displacement in the construction of affective landscapes. In silk painting, Paulo Valle finds the ideal support for investigating fluidity and impermanence, combining manual techniques with a sustainable vision based on circular fashion (upcycling). His workshops favour a relaxed and welcoming approach, where free gesture on silk becomes a powerful tool of human storytelling and artistic expression accessible to all. Esta oficina propõe uma aproximação prática e imersiva à seda, explorando este material nobre e historicamente ligado ao Oriente não apenas pela sua vertente técnica, mas como um suporte vivo de memória e de expressão artística. Ao longo do workshop, os participantes vão aprender a dialogar com a fluidez e a leveza do tecido através do uso de tintas específicas para seda e da tradicional técnica de reservas ( guta ). Sob a orientação do artista Paulo Valle, será estimulado o gesto livre e a sensibilização para a valorização na criação individual, combinando a experimentação de cor e composição.
