The European Researchers' Night returns to Oeiras on September 25, from 4pm to 10pm, at the Gardens of Palácio Marquês de Pombal. The free programme includes games, interactive experiments, conversations and exhibitions for all ages.

A night walk through Castelo de São Jorge, led by biologists from Biota, to discover, observe and identify the various bat species that live there. The activity uses ultrasound detectors and helps demystify myths and legends about these animals.

A visit to the Museu da Marioneta in Lisbon, a museum entirely devoted to the art and world of puppetry.

The ground-floor exhibition at the Museu de Lisboa - Palácio Pimenta traces Lisbon's evolution from the Paleolithic to the reign of D. João V, with over 500 pieces, including the famous pre-1755 earthquake model of the city.

The Aljube Museum presents a long-term exhibition on the Portuguese dictatorship (1926-1974), resistance and the 25 April 1974 revolution, complemented by temporary exhibitions and regular activities. It also includes a documentation centre and an archaeological display.

The MAC/CCB — the Museum of Contemporary Art and Centre for Architecture at the Centro Cultural de Belém — is dedicated to modern and contemporary art, holding works by Calder, Picasso, Warhol, Paula Rego and many others. Tickets cost 15€, with a 50% discount for residents in Portugal and 20% for ages 7–18, students and seniors, plus free entry on Sundays until 2pm for residents.
