LOCUS: TAKING THE STAGE: Lisbon Theatre of the Oppressed Group

Saturday 12 December · 11:00

Pavilhão Julião Sarmento, Lisbon

Brief IntroductionThe second programmed moment of LOCUS, composed by Mariana Viterbo Brandão for the Arena 3003 by Rita McBride, explores what happens when we stop being mere spectators and start deciding the course of the story.Based on the theatrical arsenal left by Augusto Boal (1931-2009) and his proposal that made Forum Theatre a place of participation, transformation and emancipation, the Group of Theatre of the Oppressed of Lisbon invites you to a space of listening and rehearsal of strategies. According to this method, short plays will be presented that portray a concrete situation of oppression, and in a second performance they open a place for the spectators, who at any moment can interrupt the action to take on the role of a character and change the course of events. The event takes place from 11:00 to 14:00 and from 15:00 to 18:00.PricesIndividual ticket5.00€Discounts:2.5€ (50%)13, 25 years old (non-residents in the municipality of Lisbon);Cultural Corridor: higher education students up to 25 years old3.5€ (30%)People with specific characteristics (60% incap.);Professionals in the field of culture4€ (20%)65+ years old inclusive (non-residents in Lisbon);Cultural Corridor: higher education students 26+ years old inclusive;CML employees (+1 companion)*Exempt from VAT under Article 9.Free Entry:Companions of a person with specific characteristics (60% incap.) / Professionals in the exercise of their functions: teachers, researchers, journalists, tourism professionals registered with RNAAT / Lisboa Card, Adults / Members of APOM, ICOM, ICOMOS, AICA / Former Combatants / Residents in Lisbon: Passe Cultura: up to 23 years old, 65+ years old inclusive, unemployed people, Sundays and holidays from 11:00 to 14:00 / EGEAC employees (+1 companion)For more information, please contact the box office of Pavilhão Julião Sarmento (+351) 218383350 or the website: https://pavilhaojuliaosarmento.pt/index.html
